If you haven’t watched the PBS special “Spain..On the Road Again,” I definitely recommend it. It’s only available on YouTube as it was first filmed in 2008. A friend recommended it to me since I am always researching places to travel to.
A mixture of food and sightseeing, Gwenyth Paltrow and Chef Mario Batali cruise in a Mercedes convertible through the many provinces of Spain to seek out the ultimate recipes of the local cuisine. Your mouth will water at the food they prepare and serve at each stop. And your eyes will gaze dreamily at the beautiful scenery of architecture and landscapes throughout each region.
Each episode is filled with humorous dynamics between the cast members. Also co-starring Mark Bittman and Claudia Bassols. All of their personalities couldn’t be any different and yet they fit together like a finished puzzle in this four-part series. I rate the action as a nine on a scale of 1-10. (only because I was not there to share in the fun) I was entertained every minute!
Spain is now on my bucket list. Among many other adventures.
