Where Has the Time Gone?

I’ve travelled many places.  I should say, I’ve been blessed to be able to travel to many places.  I get so excited about my adventures and all the experiences I can write about when I get back.  But, then real life sets in and the story seems to slip away.  I want to stay with my writing.  Making it a priority.  It’s just not that easy.

I visit Colorado at least 4 times a year.  Mostly short trips due to time constraints.  I just feel I need to hike up a trail and soak up the crisp, mountain air.  It inspires me.  It makes me feel whole.  I feel closer to God!  And then, when I come back down, the chaos starts.

I’m not sure why I’ve let my life become so busy.  For one thing, my brain never shuts off.  But when I travel, I seem to be able to close off the craziness around my life and just be.  My goal has always been to be a travel writer.  Perhaps, it is time to let everything else go and focus on what is important to me.  God, Family and Writing!

How do you keep consistent with your writing?  I would love to hear your ideas.

Until next time….

  1. What a wonderful tribute to traveling. I think getting out of our daily habits is healthy – like a reset button. My best writing happens when I’m a hermit at home, holed up in my writing room for a month straight. 🙂
