One too many bites? Na…it’s the Journey!

It’s supposed to be peaceful working from home but somehow there seems to be white noise coming from outside my window.  How can I concentrate on what I want to write?  Focusing on one item at a time has never been my strong suit.  I’ve exchanged a corporate life (many different lives) for a home office and with the windows open on a somewhat cool spring day, I ponder the thought of if I’ve bitten off more than I can chew.  In the last year, I’ve moved several times between towns and states, I got engaged, I adopted a 4-1/2 year old Morkie named Charlie, the list goes on and on.  However, during all the times of change, I was able to focus on where I was headed next.  Sure, I’ve been sloppy, irresponsible, broke several times, in debt more than I wanted to.  Yet somehow, I keep going in what seems like a slow, motionless pace.  Like breathless steps up Mt. Everest at 20,000 feet.

I am now a Travel Professional and a Copywriter.  At least that is what I am calling myself these days.  I’ve written more than you will ever see, studied hours and hours of courses, and invested every penny I had to make this dream come true.  I don’t know about you but that can make a girl crack under pressure.  Yet somehow I feel at peace knowing that no matter what it has taken to get to this point, I still have courage to accomplish what I set out to do….travel the world!  And write about it too!

The technical side is a bit complicated for me but my blog will be updated soon and I now have a website for travel arrangements. http://www.travelsbytee.com or you can email me at tshawvanvark@yahoo.com to inquire/book an amazing adventure!  I specialize in cruises, the Caribbean and Disney vacations.   My Facebook page is changing to http://www.facebook.com/travelsbytee on May 18. Make sure you like my page so you can stay tuned for great travel deals and tips. You can also follow me on Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram.

I couldn’t have done all of this without the love and support of my family and friends.  Lennie, my fiancé, has supported me from day one even though he has no clue what I’m doing…ha!  He just goes with the flow. To my children, Kendra and Kegan Strobel, I’m grateful you accept your restless soul of a Mom.  To Jackie Hellrung, Sherri Koch and Caprice Buchmeier, you never let me say “I quit.”  You kept encouraging me each time I felt like I was failing and lifted me up to say “I can.”  From the bottom of my heart, Thank You for all the phone calls, texts and support on my blog!  Thank you to my followers on my blog and Facebook page!  You’ve given me the confidence to publish my tales of travel.  It hasn’t been that consistent, I know but I can’t wait to share more with you!  I also want to thank a fellow blogger, @SuddenlyJamie on “Live to Write – Write to Live” blog (www.nhwn.wordpress.com)  I can only hope to be as fluent of a writer as she is some day.  Without her words of inspiration, organization, leadership and fun reads, I don’t think I could have even thought about writing as part of my career.

My journey may feel like I’ve just begun but I think I’m somewhere in the middle now.  I have so much left on my “to do” list but I’m almost to the top of that mountain.  There’s no looking down from here.   So did I bite off more than I can chew?  I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Until next time…
